The West Virginia Prevention Research Center (WVPRC) welcomes all individuals, academic faculty, and staff, interested in chronic disease prevention and intervention in WV and Appalachia to join the WV PRC as an Affiliate member. 1. Expertise in community engagement in research, chronic disease prevention and database management.
2. The introduction of your interests and expertise to our academic, state, and community networks for potential collaborations.
3. The promotion of your research through CDC reporting and PRC promotional venues as well as PRCs across the country who have similar interests.
4. Communications and dissemination consultation and support.
Affiliates may be asked to:
1. Share your expertise and collaborate with colleagues and other PRC faculty and staff affiliates, the PRC Community Partnership Board members, and other partners.
2. Help promote the WVPRC in priority research areas.
3. Provide occasional requested information, such as biographical sketches, resumes/CVs, publications/presentation lists, and responses to brief surveys.
4. Participate, to the extent possible, in WVPRC meetings and/or conference calls.
